The Norwegian-American Historical Association has a global membership of 2000 members. Naturally, the vast majority of our members are residents of the United States and Norway, but you may be surprised to find that the Association's global outreach extends to members in Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Switzerland. The Association has members in forty-eight states in the United States, plus the District of Columbia. The two exception states are Rhode Island and Wyoming. If you are of Norwegian ancestry, living in either of these two states, we'd love to hear from you! The majority of our U.S. membership resides in Minnesota (598), Wisconsin (152), California (119), Illinois (110), Washington (97), and Iowa (82), reflecting the migration of the Norwegian immigrants within America. The fewest number of Association members — one — are found in South Carolina and West Virginia. Only Minnesota has more Association members than the country of Norway (192). The Association (August 2003) has 906 Life Members, 33 Patrons, 108 Sustaining Members, 31 Student Members and 837 Associate Members. The remaining members are comprised of organizations, historical associations, libraries, etc. NAHA does not make any member information available to third parties. We are happy, however, to help members connect with others in their area who share the same Norwegian-American interests.
